Every Saturday of Chapter is a welcome half day, and so it was on day 20. Although it had been initially been intended that the whole morning would be spent in committee work, the Steering Committee called for a plenary session in order to assess the progress of the group work.
The secretaries of the committees gave an account of the process the friars had decided on with regard to reflection and the formulation of proposals. Most committees had almost finished with the work on proposals, while others were either waiting for technical information which would help them in their decisions, or else expecting contact from other committees. A further group had broken up into subcommittees.
Taking into account what had been said by the secretaries, it was decided to plan for a plenary session on Monday morning during which the draft proposals would be presented.
At the end of the session the Minister General formally asked the new General Definitors who had arrived after the election if they accepted their office. Br. Ivan SESAR, Br. Lóránt OROSZ and Br. Valmir RAMOS all accepted and were confirmed in office.
The friars then spent the rest of the morning in committee work and thus the work of the third week of Chapter came to a close.
